How come it's much easier to go to the doctor when we feel unwell physically: sore throat, flu, bad cough? Why don’t we see a health professional when we feel emotional pain: guilt, loss, loneliness, anxiety or depression. Too many of us deal with common psychological-health issues on our own, but we don’t have to. We can go and see someone, someone who will be able to understand our situation and help. Emotional health is as important as breaking your leg and you certainly wouldn't leave that untreated, would you? You would go and see the doctor, that trained professional who you know and trust will help you. I can do that for you with your emotional well-being.
A very useful video called "I had a Black Dog" which has been created explaining what it feels like to live with depression can be found here. Click the link to be redirected to the video I Had a Black Dog
I have tried to make the Mind2Talk website as user friendly as possible with lots of information to help you decide whether you would like us to work together. Further down this page is the "about me" section, there you can find out more about me, my experience and my qualifications. If you have any questions at all please go to the contact page to message me and I will be happy to answer any questions you may have.

ABOUT
Me
I have done various jobs during my working life, none of which ever seemed to challenge or fulfil my needs. I always felt as though there ought to be more to my working life. I was feeling a void, you could even describe it as somewhat empty. Even though I'd had success in these various roles it never quite felt like it was where I wanted to be. After a culmination of personal life events, which gave me time to evaluate what I wanted in life and in which direction I wanted to go, I decided to do something about it and embarked on the journey of becoming a qualified counsellor, something I had always been interested in. Counselling, I believe really utilises my skills and my personality, being a counsellor means I now work directly with people to help them make positive changes in their life, which is something I am passionate about.

This vocation fits in perfectly with who I am as a person, I am an excellent listener and a deeply empathic and warm counsellor who is caring and non-judgemental. I possess a natural quality that makes people feel at ease, which is great for a potential client seeking counselling who may be feeling anxious about seeing a counsellor.
I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor. This means I use three approaches to counselling, these approaches are: Person Centred Therapy, Transactional Analysis and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy. Being an Integrative Counsellor means that I am able to work with you in a way that incorporates more than the one specific school of counselling, this means we have the opportunity to change things along the way, we are able to tailor the counselling to your needs and we can work in ways that are of the most benefit to you.
My counselling service will provide you with a platform for emotional expression in a safe environment. Working together will enable you to resolve issues that you are finding challenging and gain a new insight and outlook on. I am an honest counsellor who will not judge you on anything you disclose in a session. What we will do together is explore all that is causing you concern, you will make your own decisions about your life, you choose your own path and direction. You will remain in complete control and I will not tell you what to do or how to live your life, that will always remain for you to decide.
Experience
I have worked with a wide range of issues during my counselling career. As well as running my own private counselling practice I have experience working in the NHS at Manchester Royal Infirmary, as a counsellor for the Neurology department and I am also co-run a voluntary counselling service for people in the local community. I am also currently undertaking a placement with Place2Be who provide counselling for children in schools. My studies and experience so far has allowed me to broaden my techniques and skills, this allows me to work with you creatively and in a collaborative style so we can find exactly what works best for you.
